About Us

Where Adventure Meets Purpose

Kodiak Scenic Tours began as a mission, not a business. Long before we welcomed curious travelers aboard for breathtaking whale watching and sea-life adventures, our boat had one special job—to ferry children to and from summer camp on Woody Island. It was a simple idea with a big heart: make sure every child could experience the beauty, fun, and freedom of camp across the channel.

In those early days, kids and volunteers alike would point out sea otters, puffins, and even whales along the way—pure, unscripted wonder. Before we knew it, those spontaneous sightings became treasured moments, and the idea for Kodiak Scenic Tours was born.

We’re Evan Jones and Stephen Foreman—“Evan-Stephen” (yes, just like “even-steven”)—and for nearly a decade now, we’ve been sharing the magic of Kodiak’s waters with guests from all over the world. But the heart of this journey hasn’t changed. Every tour you take directly supports our original mission. Thanks to you, the children of Kodiak continue to cross these same waters each summer for unforgettable camp experiences—fuel, maintenance, and all, fully covered by Kodiak Scenic Tours.

So when you come aboard, you’re not just seeing whales—you’re part of something much bigger.
Thank you for joining us on this meaningful adventure. Welcome to Kodiak Scenic Tours—where every splash, breeze, and breathtaking view has a story behind it.

About Your Captain

Hi there! I’m Stephen, and I’m thrilled to welcome you aboard for what I hope will be one of your most memorable adventures in Alaska.

For nearly 10 years, I’ve offered licensed charter services around Kodiak Island—but the journey really began in 2006, when my wife and I moved up to this rugged, beautiful place we now call home. Together, we’ve built a life rooted in family, nature, and community. She runs a small local farm and dairy, and I’m what folks around here might call a “jack of all trades”—always chasing that sweet spot where adventure meets sustainability.

When you join my tour, you won’t be just a guest—you’ll be treated like an old friend. We’ll share stories, soak in the awe of Kodiak’s coastline, and hopefully spot some whales while we’re at it.

Thanks for being part of something meaningful. Let’s have some fun out there!
